A Brown Water Advisory has been issued at the North shore (Waihee to Hookipa) and West Maui (Honolua to Kahekili)
High surf has resulted in debris and potentially harmful organisms entering into coastal waters. The public is advised to stay out of the coastal waters due to possible pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and debris. Not all coastal areas may be impacted by this high surf event, however, if the water is brown stay out. Continue to practice good personal hygiene and follow-up with your primary care physician if you have any health concerns.
